The Mont Alto Lady Lions hosted Christendom College for the first home game of the season at the Mont Alto gym.  The two teams faced each other this past Friday in the first round of the Davis College Tip-Off Tournament.  Mont Alto won the first meeting 59-41, and went on to win the tournament.

This time was no different as Mont Alto started off strong, taking the first quarter 15-9.  Alexis Small had a double-double for Mont Alto 10 rebounds and 11 points.  Freshman Shelly Trumpower led Mont Alto in scoring with 15 points, and Karley Coleman dished out 7 assists.

Christendom worked hard to stay in the game, and only trailed by 8 at the half, 30-22.  The Crusader's Bryn Burgess valiantly put up 25 points, and pulled down 15 rebounds, but also had a tough ball handling night as she gave up 14 turnovers.

Mont Alto ended the game victorious with a 56-40 win, and have started the season with a 3-0 record.   The ladies next game will be on Friday when they travel to Trinity College in Washington DC.
