Women's Basketball Recognized With Two Members on the USCAA All-Academic Team

Uniontown, Pa. - Bekah Adams and Shelly Trumpower of the Penn State Mont Alto women's basketball team were named to the 2016-17 National All-Academic Team by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) on Tuesday.

All student-athletes must have 24 or more credits on their USCAA transcripts and their cumulative grade point average must be a 3.50 or greater to be eligible for the recognition.

Adams a nursing major, earned the distinction with a 3.52 cumulative GPA. The sophomore guard continued to improve her game throughout the season registering three starts in the 22 games in which she appeared in.

Shelly Trumpower was recognized as a National All-Academic Team member for the first time in her career with a 3.52 GPA. Trumpower was a key member of Coach Paul Lundy's rotation during the 2016-17 season as an off-ball guard. The Maugansville, Md. native, averaged 30 minutes a game and produced 6.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
