Mont Alto Duo Sweeps PSUAC Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Mont Alto women's soccer freshman Sarah Mackey (Norfolk, Va. / Granby) and sophomore Tori Stouffer (Orrstown, Pa. / Cumberland Valley Christian) were both honored by the Penn State University Athletic Conference as the Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week award after their outstanding performances.

The dynamic duo combined to help Mont Alto earn a 7-0 victory over Penn State Schuylkill on Friday. Stouffer who has been filling in admirably as a goalkeeper for injured Jesime Freet (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle) and recorded her third-straight shutout in the win over Schuylkill. Stouffer made four saves and has proved to be a vital member of the squad as she also leads the team in points (23) and goals with 10 on the season.

Sarah Mackey (Norfolk, Va. / Granby) has stepped up within the midfield and she had her most complete performance of the season in the triumph over Schuylkill. The freshman scored her first collegiate hat trick scoring the first on an unassisted rocket and added another pair to total seven so far this season. Her seven goals are tied for eight within the PSUAC.

Mont Alto (8-5, 4-1 PSUAC) faces Penn State Hazleton on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. Both squads have clinched a PSUAC Playoff berth. The winner of Saturday's game will be the No. 2 seed with first round action of the PSUAC Playoffs happening on Saturday, Oct. 26.
