Women's Soccer: Penn State Mont Alto 2, Penn State New Kensington 0

MONT ALTO, Pa.- Penn State Mont Alto women's soccer hosted New Kensington on Sunday afternoon in their home conference opener of the 2025 season. Mont Alto got on top early as Lyla Kauffman found the back of the net on an assist from Cameron Dillow in the 36th minute.

Twenty minutes later, Mont Alto sent a ball into the box where New Kensington misplayed the ball past the keeper for Mont Alto's second goal of the contest. With the insurance goal, the Mont Alto defense stood strong and pitched a shut out. Brooklynn Fretwell was able to stop all four of her shots on goal to preserve the shutout. 

Kauffman paced the Mont Alto attack on the day with two shots on goal. Kaylen Gracey, Alexis Doyle, Sydney Allison and Kaity Hochstrasser recorded the other shots on goal for Mont Alto.

Up Next: Mont Alto travels to Penn State Hazleton on Tuesday for a 6pm start.
