Women's Soccer: Penn State Schuylkill 2, Penn State Mont Alto 1
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa.- Mont Alto women's soccer traveled to Penn State Schuylkill on Tuesday afternoon in a rematch of the 2024 PSUAC Women's Soccer Championship game. Mont Alto wasn't able to overcome a 2-0 deficit as they fell 2-1 in the contest.
Nia Bronson scored the lone goal of the first half in the 26th minute on an unassisted tally. The first 20 minutes of the second half remained scoreless until Schuylkill's Grace Fenstermacher put Schuylkill up 2-0 in the 66th minute.
Mont Alto got within one on a goal from Kaylen Gracey which was assisted by Cameron Dillow in the 72nd minute.
Schuylkill held a slight advantage in SOG with 12 compared to 7 of Mont Alto's. Kira Weikert was able to stop 10 of her 12 shot attempts faced and Schuylkill's Victoria Grimm stopped six of seven.
Gracey led Mont Alto in shots on goal with four, Bronson and Madison Warnack led Schuylkill with three a piece.
Up Next: Mont Alto hosts Penn State Hazleton on Saturday, October 4 at noon. The game marks senior day and the pink out game for the team.
