Mont Alto Cross Country Runners Post Solid Times in Final Tune Up Before PSUAC Invitational

FREDRICK, Md. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's and women's cross country programs competed in the Hood College Invitational in the Lions' final regular-season meet of the year on Saturday.

Madison Ford (Fayetville, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) and Elizabeth Parsons (Shade Gap, Pa. / Commonwealth Charter Academy) represented Mont Alto in the women's 6K race. Ford crossed the finish line 94th with a time of 30:49.7. Meanwhile, Parsons has continued to shave time off her runs and set a personal-best time of 34:15.3.

Leading the Mont Alto men was Joel Minicozzi (Hedgesville, W.Va. / Hedgesville) who finished 97th with a time of 33:14.2. Finishing a couple minutes behind him was Simon Egolf (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) at 35:41.7.  The next pack of finishers for Mont Alto included Andrew Walker (Carlisle, Pa. / Big Spring) at 37:29.5 and Jacob Geesaman (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) who finished the 8K in 39:15.5. 

Mont Alto has the week to prepare for the PSUAC Invitational Championships on Oct. 26 at Norlo Park.
