Cross Country Championship Recap

Chesapeake, Va. -Penn State Mont Alto competed in the 2022 USCAA Cross Country Championships Friday morning. A tropical storm in the area caused for wet conditions with temps in the low 70s and winds at 15 mph with gusts at 30 mph.  

Gabriel Brandt led the Nittany Lions finishing in 21st place with a time of 30:57.3. Gabriel Schubring finished in 47th with a time of 34:45.6 and Gavin Miller finished 50th at 36:51.0 Kyle Davis placed 60th with a final time of 36:51.0. For the women, Sarah Hipple finished in 28th with a time of 28:59.3. 

Mathew Tripp (SUNY ESF) finished with a time of 26:25.2 to win the men's individual as Sean Dristle (SUNY ESF) 27:52.1 and Trevor Kipp(Vermont Tech) 28:03.0 placed second and third. SUNY ESF had three top three finishers with Katie Richardson taking first place with a final time of 24:49.1 and Savannah Kuhr (24:50.5) and Bryce Hopper (24:57.3) finishing in second and third. 

SUNY ESF won the team championship with a total score of 24. Johnson & Wales Charlotte was second with 75 and Bluefield State University finished third with a score of 95. On the Women's side, SUNY ESF finished in first with 17, Christendom College placed second with 86, and Bluefield State rounded out the top three with a score of 94.
