Kevin Geesaman enters his fourth season as the head coach of the Penn State Mont Alto cross country program in the 2022-23 academic year.

Highlights of the 2022 season included Gabriel Brandt being named USCAA Male Runner of the Year and Macy Carper was named a second team All-American by the association. 

Macy Carper set the Penn State Mont Alto Cross Country 6K Record with a time of 26:25 at the PSUAC Invitational. Carper (8th place) has the highest finish ever for a Penn State Mont Alto Women's Cross Country runner at the USCAA National Meet. She finished 2nd in two races this season, and also had a 4th place finish in the PSUAC Invitational. Gabriel Brandt (19th place) has the highest finish ever for a Penn State Mont Alto Men's Cross Country runner at the USCAA National Meet. He finished runner-up in three of his five races this season. 

Geesaman comes to Mont Alto most recently from Waynesboro Area High School, where he has volunteered as an assistant track and field coach as well as helped coach the golf program, basketball and baseball programs in various roles. He has been coaching at Waynesboro since 2009 and prior to that he served as a volunteer assistant coach at Shippensburg University where he helped Steve Spence prepare and develop daily workouts.

He competed collegiately at both Shippensburg and Penn State University. Overall, he earned a varsity letter from the Red Raiders and five letters running on the cross country and track & field team's at University Park. Geesaman is the PSU record holder in the 20,000-meter event with a time of 1:04:40, which he accomplished in 1998.

A resident of Waynesboro, Pa. Geesaman graduated from Penn State University in 1999 with a degree in rehabilitation education. He currently also teaches sixth grade math at the Waynesboro Area Middle School.
