Women's Basketball Drops Season Opener

The Mont Alto women's basketball team dropped its season opening game to Bryant and Stratton College on Saturday afternoon at The Hill School in Amherst, NY. Cold shooting and turnovers were the name of the game that slowed down the team from the start. For the game, Mont Alto committed 29 turnovers and shot 19-of-54 from the field including 1-of-11 from distance. 

Chelsea Cover led the squad in scoring with 19 points, six assists and three rebounds. Madison Bishop chipped in ten points and five rebounds. Naliyah Hadley scored seven points off the bench in nine minutes for Mont Alto. Colette Salyers added in six points in 15 minutes off the bench. 

Bryant and Stratton was paced by an outstanding performance by Kat Kanhoye, who scored a game-high 30 points. She recorded a double-double by recording 11 assists. Julie Trowers missed a near double-double with ten points and also registering nine rebounds.
