An incredible season for the women's soccer team came to a finish Sunday afternoon as Mont Alto dropped its second pool play game, eliminating the team from postseason contention. This season contained a PSUAC Championship, 13-3-1 record, and a six-game winning streak. For a halted program years prior, Head Coach Mary Miller has improved the team's record each season since taking over in 2018. For seniors Jesime Freet, Kara Newell, Shania Atherton, and Madison Bishop, Sunday would be their last soccer game in a Mont Alto uniform.

Freet was incredible in goal all season, picking up multiple USCAA Goalie of the Week awards along the way. She helped Mont Alto pitch nine shutouts, including a streak of four consecutive.

Kara Newell finishes her Mont Alto soccer career with 39 career starts and 12 goals with 18 assists. She started every game for Mont Alto this season.

Shania Atherton wrapped up her career with five goals and four assists in 41 career games. She played an excellent midfield setting up the Mont Alto attack all season long.

Madison Bishop is another midfielder finishing her Mont Alto career with 38 career games played, recording three goals and two assists. Along with Atherton, her play in the midfield was superb all season.

Johnson and Wales' Maira Teruel got the team on the board in the 39th minute to give them a 1-0 advantage late in the first half. Katie Douglas added insurance in the second half on a free kick assist from the foot of Asmira Garcia.

Johnson and Wales controlled the game in corner kicks 14-0 and shots on goal 12-2. Erika Padilla and Avery Diehl recorded the shots on goal for Mont Alto.
