Volleyball extends winning streak to five

MONT ALTO, PA-- Following a busy Sunday afternoon in which the volleyball team picked up two huge PSUAC victories, they recovered quickly and defeated Penn State Greater Allegheny on Monday evening. The match was a battle of the top two teams in the PSUAC West division. Penn State Mont Alto improved to 9-2 in the division and Penn State Greater Allegheny fell to 8-3. The set scores were 25-18, 27-25 and 25-20.

 

Caroline Blickley led the offensive effort with 14 kills and a .520 hitting percentage. Gracie Vaughn also recorded 12 kills on 15 attack attempts. Rachel Manikowski registered 29 digs and Alyssa Roberts tallied 10. Kylie Denlinger had 44 assists on the evening.

 

Alix Ellis led Penn State Greater Allegheny with eight kills and a dig. Jenna Gralewski recorded 12 digs. Sueriah Timsah had six kills as the second leading scorer. 

 

Up next:

The regularly scheduled contest against Penn State New Kensington on Thursday evening has been canceled and will not be made up. The final regular season contests will also be senior day as the team will play at 1pm against Penn State Beaver and 5pm against Harford Community College on Sunday October 24.
