Mont Alto wins 2023-24 PSUAC Chancellor's Cup

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State University Athletic Conference released its final Chancellor's Cup standings for 2023-2024 on Thursday, with Penn State Mont Alto capturing the Cup after a strong year that included two championships and a point total of 70.5.

The Chancellor's Cup is an annual award given to the campus that shows the most comprehensive excellence across PSUAC Championship sports, with points awarded based upon a team's finish in the postseason tournament or regular season standings if a team does not advance to the playoffs. 

Mont Alto finished the year with its two fall championships in women's soccer and volleyball, and was bolstered by strong showings in baseball, golf and softball where they finished as conference runners-up in each. All seven of Mont Alto's team sports advanced to the PSUAC postseason, with its men's and women's basketball teams finishing as quarterfinalists. 

Defending champion Penn State Brandywine finished the year as the runner-up with 63 total points and two championships of their own. Brandywine won both men's soccer and softball, two sports they've long been dominant in. Women's soccer also finished as runner's up this season while women's basketball and volleyball were quarterfinalists. 

Penn State York finished third, winning the men's basketball crown and helping them finish with 56 points. Their volleyball team were runners-up and golf finished third. Rounding out the top five were Penn State DuBois (45 points) and Penn State Schuylkill (44 points), with DuBois' best finish coming as baseball champions. Schuylkill's baseball team finished third.

The other campuses that won a conference title finished tied for seventh place in the Chancellor's Cup standings with 40.5 points, as Penn State Beaver won women's basketball and Penn State Hazleton captured the golf championship.
