USCAA Announces 2024 Baseball and Softball Postseason Awards

DUBOIS, Pa. -- The 2024 USCAA All-Americans and End of the Year Awards were announced at the Small College World Series Home Run Derby Sunday night at Showers Field.

 

Zach Garlin headlined the baseball awards by being named a first team All-American. Garlin has now been named an All-American in every season played. This season he went 8-1 with 81 strikeouts in 65 innings pitched.

 

Blake Orndorff and James Sibert each picked up second team honors. Orndorff batted a team-leading .438 with 28 RBI's while Sibert provided the power for Mont Alto with nine home runs and 56 RBI's.

 

Jarrett Goodyear rounded out the Mont Alto Baseball All-Americans, earning Honorable Mention. Goodyear batted .351 this season with five home runs and 34 RBI's.

 

Mont Alto softball picked up three first team All-Americans with Kirsten Dell, Delaney Glazer and Destiny Hall leading the way. Dell batted .466 with two home runs and 38 RBI's with a 7-3 record as a pitcher. Glazer batted .370 and went 13-3 in the circle. Hall paced Mont Alto in home runs with six this season.

 

McKenna Sas earned second team honors with a .390 average and two home runs. She joins Dell as the only Mont Alto softball players to be named USCAA Softball All-Americans all four seasons.

 

 

USCAA Academic All-Americans

The following student-athletes were named USCAA Academic All-Americans.

 

USCAA National All-Academic Team Guidelines

  • All student-athletes with 24 or more credits on their USCAA transcripts shall be eligible for the National All-Academic Team.
  • Overall (cumulative) grade point averages must be 3.50 (on a 4.00 point system) or greater.

Mont Alto softball finished second in the USCAA this season and is headed to the USCAA Small College World Series in DuBois, Pa. Their first game is Monday 5/13 at 6pm.
