USCAA Baseball and Softball Award Winners Announced

DuBois, Pa.- The 2023 USCAA All-Americans and End of the Year Awards were announced at the Small College World Series Home Run Derby Sunday night at Showers Field. Penn State Mont Alto placed four baseball and four softball players on the All-American list. Jared Pine was awarded the USCAA Baseball Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and softball coach Heath Newell was named the USCAA Softball Coach of the Year.

BASEBALL

 

Jared Pine- 2023 USCAA Baseball Player of the Year, 1st Team All-American

Trystan Housman- 2nd team All-American

7-0, 50 IP, 59 SO, 3.24 ERA

 

Brady Bigler- 2nd team All-American

.328 AVG, 1 HR, 28 RBI, 18 SB

 

Zach Garlin- 2nd team All-American

4-5, 52 IP, 59 SO, 3.12 ERA

 

SOFTBALL

 

Heath Newell- USCAA Softball Coach of the Year

24-11 overall, 15-3 PSUAC, conference semifinals

 

Delaney Glazer- 1st team All-American

10-5, 10 CG, 91.1 IP, 131 SO, 3.22 ERA

 

Destiny Hall- 2nd team All-American

McKenna Sas- 2nd team All-American

Kirsten Dell-2nd team All-American

The following student-athletes have been named to the USCAA Academic All-American team. These student-athletes have all accumulated 24 or more credits and an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher.
