Lions Drop Non-Conference Affair to Harford Community College

Bel Air, Md. – The Penn State Mont Alto baseball team quickly earned a 2-0 lead, but Harford Community College scored 31 unanswered runs as it earned a 31-2 win over the visiting Lions.

Penn State Mont Alto (2-14-1, 0-2 PSUAC) got off to a good start in the top half of the first inning when Colby Black reached on a error by the Harford third basemen.  Matt Taylor would draw a walk and the bases became loaded on a Tyler Martin single. Black scored on a wild pitch from Harford starter Ronnie Krsolovic. Mont Alto made it 2-0 when Brady Topper singled through the right side scoring Taylor from third base. 

Harford Community College (24-5-1, 12-0-1 NJCAA) scored eight runs in the bottom of the first and followed it up with 23 unanswered runs over the course of seven innings for the win. The Fighting Owls out-hit the Lions by a 25-7 margin.

Penn State Mont Alto return to action Wednesday, April 5 when it takes on Christendom College for a home non-conference doubleheader. Game times are set for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
