Kendall, Martin and Osborne Named to the USCAA National All-Academic Team

DuBois, Pa. – Sophomore Bryce Kendall (Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) and seniors Hunter Martin (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) and Colin Osborne (Williamsport, Md. / Williamsport) were named to the USCAA National All-Academic Team as it was announced at the USCAA Small College World Series pre-tournament luncheon on Sunday, May 12.  

All student-athletes must have 24 or more credits on their USCAA transcripts and their cumulative grade point average must be a 3.50 or greater to be eligible for the recognition. A full list of the 2019 USCAA Baseball National All-Academic Award winners can be found here.

Kendall swung a hot-bat during the final month of the season starting six of the final 11 games behind the plate for Mont Alto. He finished the season with a .368 batting average and drove in four runners. He also threw 8.2 innings out of the bullpen for the Nittany Lions where he collected seven strikeouts.

Both Hunter Martin (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) and Colin Osborne (Williamsport, Md. / Williamsport) made it two-straight years in which they were named to the National All-Academic Team. Martin and Osborne both graduated from Mont Alto earlier this month with bachelor's degrees in business management.

Martin also was named to the USCAA All-American Second Team after slashing a career-high .366 and had a total of 75 career hits after transferring from Hagerstown Community College. Martin had 34 RBIs this season and had a steady World Series going 4-for-7 at the plate with three doubles and he drove in a pair against Mississippi University for Women.

Osborne made 15 appearances across his career at Mont Alto as the tall lefty finished 3-3, while throwing 36 innings. He owned a 7.08 ERA during the 2019 season and collected 14 strikeouts.

The Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) had nearly 70 student-athletes representing baseball and softball programs across the commonwealth receive recognition from the USCAA earning either All-American or National All-Academic honors.
