Game 1: Penn State Mont Alto 9, Penn State Fayette 2

 

Game Story

Penn State Mont Alto returned home following a 7-2 road victory over Penn State Fayette Friday afternoon. They earned a 9-2 victory in game one of the twinbill behind Logan Layton's four innings pitched with four strikeouts. Darian Mort and Trystan Housman finished out the game on the mound, giving up only two earned runs in three innings pitched. Five Penn State Mont Alto batters recorded two hits each. The team combined for 13 total in game one. Penn State Mont Alto took the lead early, scoring three runs in the bottom half of the first inning. Brady Bigler singled, scoring Jared Pine. Bigler came around to scored on a Hayden Kissel RBI groundout. Chance McClure later scored on a wild pitch. 

 

Mont Alto scored two more in the fourth inning when Tyler Moreland scored on an error and Zane Mack singled to center, scoring Jonathan Lentvorsky. Penn State Fayette scratched across two runs on Darian Mort in the top half of the fifth inning, when Nate Zimcosky scored on a wild pitch. Kade Musgrove also recorded a sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 5-2. Chance McClure singled in the 6th inning, scoring Jared Pine. Hayden Kissel later smacked a two run home run to push the Mont Alto lead to 8-2.

Game Story

Penn State Mont Alto continued the momentum in game two, pounding out twelve hits while Zach Garlin recorded seven strikeouts on five innings on the mound. Penn State Mont Alto scored seven runs in the first four innings of the game. Jarrett Goodyear recorded a two RBI single in the first, scoring Hayden Kissel and Chance McClure. Penn State Mont Alto scored three more runs in the third inning. Chance McClure hit a single to right center field, plating Brady Bigler. Goodyear singled to second base, scoring McClure. Nate Smith scored Zane Mack on a single to push the lead to 5-0. In the bottom half of the fourth, Brady Bigler doubled and later came around to score on a Hayden Kissel sacrifice fly. Penn State Fayette battled back in the top half of the sixth inning, Nate Zimcosky tripled to right center and Kaleb Scott scored Zimcosky on a RBI groundout.
