Offense comes alive in win over Penn State DuBois

Game Story

Following two losses to Penn State DuBois on Saturday afternoon, Penn State Mont Alto hit the road for the final game of a three game set on Sunday. Penn State Mont Alto bested Penn State DuBois 9-5, recording 11 hits on the afternoon. Trystan Housman earned the win for Penn State Mont Alto, pitching the final 4.2 innings. Housman struck out three and only allowed one run. Jared Pine and Jonathan Lentvorsky each recorded two hits to pace the offense. Penn State Mont Alto bounced back from an early Penn State DuBois score, recording three runs in the top of the third. Hayden Kissel was hit by a pitch and Tyler Moreland recorded a single to lead off the inning. Lentvorsky plated Kissel on a RBI double to tie the score at 1-1. Zane Mack later scored Moreland on a sacrifice fly. Caiden Smith scored pinch runner Aaron Stremmel on a RBI single to put Penn State Mont Alto up 3-1 after three innings. Penn State DuBois quickly responded, eventually gaining the lead after the fifth inning. In the bottom of the fourth, Tanner LaBenne took a Matt Huston offering for a home run, trimming the deficit to 3-2. Logan Wagner gave Penn State DuBois a 4-3 lead when he plated Tyler Yough and Dalton Stauffer on a base hit. Bryce Dobson later doubled, scoring Brett Beith. Penn State DuBois led 5-3 after five innings of play. Those runs would be the last of the game for Penn State DuBois as Penn State Mont Alto scored six total runs in the next three innings. Lentvorsky scored Hayden Kissel on a RBI single in the top of the sixth. Chance McClure, Moreland and Lentvorsky all recorded RBI's in the three run seventh inning for Penn State Mont Alto.
