Game Story

Penn State Mont Alto picked up its third straight win with a come from behind 5-4 victory over Penn State New Kensington in game one of the doubleheader. New Kensington put up three runs in the first inning, then pulled ahead 4-1 in the second inning on an Tallon Auth solo home run. The Penn State Mont Alto comeback effort started in the fifth inning when Jared Pine scored Brady Bigler on a sacrifice fly. Pinch hitter Collin Beech scored Caiden Smith on a bases loaded walk. Gavin Kissel later scored the tying run on a wild pitch, tying the game at 4-4. Jonathan Lentvorsky provided the walk off on a RBI single, scoring Tyler Moreland. Penn State Mont Alto took game one 5-4. Hayden Kissel and Zane Mack each had a team-high two hits in the opening game. Matt Huston went the distance on the mound, striking out eight and scattering five hits.

Game Story

Penn State Mont Alto carried the game one momentum into the second game, scoring eight runs on six hits. Zach Garlin pitched six strong innings, fanning nine New Kensington hitters. Jarrett Goodyear provided the early offense, scoring Jared Pine on a RBI single in the first. Penn State Mont Alto scored four runs in the fifth inning to take a 5-0 advantage. Jared Pine hit a double to right center, scoring Brady Cullen and Dan Brundage to take a 3-0 lead. Hayden Kissel recorded a sacrifice fly to push the lead to four. Michael Scott finished out the fifth by scoring Pine on a RBI single. Penn State Mont Alto went on to add three more runs in the 6th inning to defeat Penn State New Kensington 8-0 for the team's fourth straight win. Jared Pine and Michael Scott each had a team-high two hits. Hayden Kissel registered two RBI's.
