Garlin named USCAA, PSUAC Pitcher of the Week following strong performance

Penn State Mont Alto starting pitcher Zach Garlin was named both the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Pitcher of the Week, both offices announced Tuesday. The honors come one week after Garlin pitched seven scoreless innings against Penn State Beaver last Friday. He struck out ten batters and allowed only two hits in the start. On the season, Garlin is 4-2 with a 2.57 earned run average. He has pitched 42 innings, striking out 66 hitters. 

 

Garlin is in a recent stretch of five consecutive starts with at least seven strikeouts. In his last three starts, he has struck out nine or more batters.
