Baseball's comeback effort falls short against FCC

Frederick Community College 4, Penn State Mont Alto 2

 

Frederick Community College scored four runs in the first three innings against Penn State Mont Alto on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action. Daniel Herrera led off the first with a walk and Aidan Masters later plated him on a RBI double. Later in the inning, Aidan Greaney scored Masters on his RBI single. 

 

FCC scored one more in the top of the second inning when Nick Keane scored Brevin Neveker on a RBI single. In the third inning, Greaney took a Tyler Moreland offering over the fence for a home run. 

 

Mont Alto would rally in the top of the fifth inning as Gavin Kissel reached base via walk with one out. Caiden Smith recorded a single and Braden Zeger walked with two outs to load the bases for Jared Pine. Pine scored two as he hit a two RBI single through the right side of the infield. Pine was caught stealing on the next at-bat to end the inning.

 

Both teams went scoreless through the final four innings as FCC hung on to defeat Penn State Mont Alto by a final of 4-2.
