The 2021-22 academic year will see Jennifer Deinlein enter her fifth season in charge of the Penn State Mont Alto cheer program.

Deinlein, a former Susquehanna University cheerleader, was named the Penn State Mont Alto cheer squad head coach in August 2017.

Deinlein graduated from Susquehanna University with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and most recently served as the head cheer coach at her alma mater. While at Susquehanna, she directed a squad of 16-22 college cheerleaders at practices, camps, games and other performances, ensuring safety during stunting and tumbling. She was also directly responsible for all fundraising efforts, choreographing and teaching new material, as well as oversight of all team travel.

She has also made coaching stops at J. Frank Faust Jr. High School in Chambersburg, Pa., with the Virginia Mutiny (semi-professional squad) in Manassas, Va., and as the head coach of the cheerleading program at Marymount University (2000-04). Her accolades at Marymount included a first-place finish at the 2003 Capital Athletic Conference Championships, a fourth-place finish at the 2004 UCA Rutgers University Camp Championships, and had four top-10 individual finishers in CAC competitions.

Coach Deinlein attended and cheered at Chambersburg Area Senior High School and began her cheerleading career at Franklin County's Corpus Christi Catholic School.

She resides in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania with her husband, Joe, and two daughters.
