When Mont Alto faced Lehigh Valley on the road at the beginning of the season it came down to the wire.  This game was no different as visiting Lehigh Valley gave Mont Alto all they could handle with their scrappy press.

Mont Alto had the lead going into the half, 42-36.  They were poised and ready, and they were playing with a good strategy.  The second half found Lehigh Valley trying to create the pace of the game, and a couple of plays were enough to make the difference.

Free throws were again a factor for Mont Alto in this PSUAC matchup, going 19-34 from the line.  Lehigh Valley was going to the line just as much, but the result was better for them, 28-31.

Sharif Welton kept Mont Alto in it with his 20 points, 7 rebounds, and shooting 7-11 from the field which included a 3 pointer with 8.6 seconds left in the game.  Welton's effort was honorable, but Lehigh Valley's defense keyed in to keep Mont Alto's leading scorer, Jeremiah Mitchell to only 5 points.

Mont Alto will be back in action at home this Saturday as they take on another conference opponent, Greater Allegheny at 3:00pm.
