By: Frank Maira, Assistant Director of Athletics/Sports Information Director

MONT ALTO, Pa. – Quintyn Flemister (Harrisburg, Pa. / Harrisburg) and John Teague (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) finished with double-doubles to lead Penn State Mont Alto past PSU Schuylkill by a 92-57 score on Tuesday. The Nittany Lions held Schuylkill to just 17 points within the second half to improve to 14-3 overall and 11-1 in the PSUAC.

Flemister nearly scored a triple-double falling just two assists shy of the mark, but teammates Marcus Roper (Charles Town, W. Va. / Jefferson) and Darrius Bush (Martinsburg, W.Va. / Spring Mills) had outstanding efforts as well scoring 18 and 14 points apiece. Roper finished with eight boards. Mont Alto finished the night shooting 58.5 percent from the floor and 11-of-19 from downtown.

Schuylkill opened running and gunning, and connected on three-straight 3-pointers that closed the gap at 17-9. A steal by Cameron Williams (Inwood, W.Va. / Musselman) and a rim rattling dunk from John Teague (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) gave Mont Alto the 10-point advantage, but the visitors cut the margin to 22-19 and forced a Coach Schenzel timeout.

The visitors finally cooled from downtown and Mont Alto began to runaway scoring in transition to build a 42-32 advantage with 2:30 left in the half. Schuylkill scored five in a row before PSUMA answered with eight, but a buzzer beating trey from Trustin Napier had his team trailing 51-40 at halftime.

Mont Alto began the second half on a 11-0 run extending its lead to 62-40 with a Marcus Roper (Charles Town, W. Va. / Jefferson) layup with just over 16 minutes remaining. The game was never in doubt from there with Mont Alto's bench gaining valuable experience down the stretch.

PSUMA return to action on Saturday in another PSUAC conference battle with Penn State Beaver. Tip-off for the road game is slated for 3 p.m.
