Men's Basketball Improves To 3-0

The Story:

Following a 2-0 start in the Bobcat Tournament at Bryant and Stratton College last weekend, Mont Alto picked up right where it left off, defeating Williamson in non-conference action 78-51. All five of the Mont Alto starters scored in double digits. Darrius Bush continued his strong start with a team-high 15 points. Quintyn Flemister scored 13, Nathan Osei added 12, while John Teague and Caleb Eckert each chipped in 11 points. Quintyn Flemister recorded four steals on the evening and pulled in seven boards.

Williamson jumped out to an early 6-3 leads on a bucket by Kyle Morgan with 17:17 remaining in the first half. Mont Alto scored the following six points capped off by a Darrius Bush rebound and layup. A 5-0 Mont Alto run followed with a Shawn Lewis jumper and an Anthony Davis three-pointer on an assist by Darrius Bush. Mont Alto saw its first half lead grow to 12 late in the first half on a Darrius Bush jumper to push the lead to 23-11. The first-half ended on two John Teague free throws, and Mont Alto went into the locker room up 30-23.

In the second half, the Mont Alto lead shrunk down to five at the 15:52 mark as Isaiah Kelsey made a layup to cut the lead to 37-32. Cashmere Young kept the squad around on a layup that cut the Mont Alto lead to 39-35. A mass substitution put a charge into the Nittany Lions as they went on a run to push the lead to 50-35 on a Quintyn Flemister three and a Caleb Eckert hoop plus the harm. Mont Alto finished the game strong to win by a tally of 78-51.
