Davis scores 19 off bench to lead Mont Alto over DuBois 68-65

Anthony Davis scored 19 points off the bench in an efficient 20 minutes off the bench on Tuesday evening during Penn State Mont Alto's 68-65 PSUAC win over Penn State DuBois. With the win, Mont Alto seperated itself from the pack for the top spot in the PSUAC west division. Cameron Williams scored 16 points including three three's to go along with six rebiounds and four assists.

 

Cameron Williams went on a five point run of his own with the game tied at 10-10 to push Mont Alto in front by five with 13:55 remaining in the first half. Minutes later, DuBois took the lead with a Christopher Frontera three pointer. DuBois led 20-19 with 9:08 remaining in the first. Both teams would trade leads numerous times throughout the end of the half until Mont Alto went on a 6-0 run to end the half. Mont Alto led 41-35 at the break.

 

Williams (12) and Davis (10) paced the Mont Alto offense in the first half, combining on 8 of 10 shooting. Jaiquil Johnson was the leading scorer for DuBois in the first half with 16 points.

 

Mont Alto navigated command for most of the second half, pushing the lead to 56-45 following a Lee Newton layup. DuBois's Grant Grimaldi would trim the deficit to three points with a jump shot at 57-54 with 5:21 remaining in the game. Mont Alto quickly responded, going up eight points with just 55 seconds left. Mont Alto would stave off the late DuBois run, hanging on to win 68-65.
