Penn State Mont Alto 71, Penn State York 66

Caleb Eckert led the way with 15 points on Saturday afternoon as Mont Alto bested Penn State York in a battle amongst ranked teams within the USCAA. Veron Talla and Darrius Bush each contributed 13 points in the winning effort. York's Deriq Brown led the game in scoring with 22 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-With York ahead 8-5, Eckert converted on back-to-back shots and Talla also helped push the Mont Alto lead to 12-8 early.

-Following a successful free throw from Eckert, Mont Alto led 26-23 with 4:02 remaining in the first half. York's Anthony Campbell, Deriq Brown and Quentin Wells helped York on a 6-0 run to tie the contest at 28 with 2:04 left in the opening half.

-York's Mitch Saxton would give them a halftime lead with a late jumper in the waning seconds. York led 31-30 after one half of play.

-With the score tied at 35-35, Bryson Fleming would help Mont Alto regain the lead with a three point attempt.

-Deriq Brown made a free throw with 12:51 remaining to give York a 46-45 cushion.

-Taralle Hayden and Darrius Bush converted on baskets on the following four possessions after Mont Alto was up one point at 47-46 to extend the lead to 57-46.

-York's Marquise McClean made a three point basket to trim the Mont Alto lead to 69-65 with 2:01 left, this would be the closest York would get the remainder of the contest as Mont Alto hung on for a 71-65 win.
