Balanced offensive effort powers Mont Alto past Christendom 88-62

MONT ALTO, Pa.- Four Mont Alto starters scored double-digit points, led by Nathan Osei with 14 as Mont Alto won a non-conference contest against Christendom 88-62 on Wednesday evening. During halftime, Mont Alto celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day with unveiling championship banners for the women's soccer and volleyball teams for their 2023 accomplishments.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-With Mont Alto leading 16-14 in the first half, Veron Talla, Darrius Bush and Dariel Rivera each converted on baskets and pushed the Mont Alto advantage to 23-14.

-Joseph Brooks scored back-to-back baskets including an alley oop in the final minute of the half to push Mont Alto's lead to 37-28 at the half.

-Christendom's Andrew Heisler converted on a three pointer to push the Christendom deficit to just 42-37 with 17:08 remaining.

-Minutes later, John Fowler connected on a three of his own as Christendom was within two points at 44-42.

-With Mont Alto leading 61-53, Saihou Mbergan and Dariel Rivera made layups on consecutive trips to push the lead to 65-53.

-Christendom wouldn't get within double digits for the latter part of the second half as Mont Alto cruised to a 88-62 victory.
