
Penn State Mont Alto 94, Penn State Greater Allegheny 79
MONT ALTO, Pa.- Taralle Hayden led all Mont Alto scorers with 17 points on Saturday afternoon as Mont Alto moved into a tie of first place with Greater Allegheny following a 94-79 win.
In the first half, Mont Alto shot 67% and received some key contributions from bench players as the several starting players battled early foul trouble. Hayden scored 12 of his 17 in the first half and Dariel Rivera drove to the rim at will and went a perfect 5-5 in the first half. The two combined for 23 of Mont Alto's 47 first half points.
The sharpshooting continued in the second half as Mont Alto shot 53.6% from the field and got to the foul line 19 times. The team made 14 of their 19 free throw attempts in the second half. Greater Allegheny trailed by only three midway through the second half with the score 69-66 with 10 minutes left.
Mont Alto quickly got the lead up to ten points again and didn't allow Greater Allegheny to get within double digits in the latter portion of the half.
With the win, both Mont Alto and Greater Allegheny are both 12-3 and tied for first in the PSUAC West Division with four conference games to play each.
