Second Half Surge Helps Mont Alto Seal Division Title on Senior Night

Penn State Mont Alto 87, Penn State Lehigh Valley 79

 

Four Mont Alto players scored in double-figures Friday evening led by Cameron Williams and Caleb Eckert who each had 19 points as Mont Alto clinched home court advantage in the PSUAC playoffs with a 87-79 victory over Penn State Lehigh Valley on Senior Night. Pregame, Seniors Nathan Osei, Cameron Williams, Darrius Bush and Dariel Rivera were recognized for their careers at Mont Alto.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-Mont Alto trailed by as much as 11 points early as Lehigh Valley built a 15-4 advantage through the first six minutes of action.

-Lehigh Valley seized control much throughout the first half as Nas Ruhani made a layup to push the lead to 35-23, forcing a Mont Alto timeout.

-Down 41-30, Williams made back-to-back three pointers and Caleb Eckert made a jumper to trim the deficit to 41-38 with 4:06 left in the half.

-Following a Bryson Fleming three at the end of the half, Mont Alto trailed 48-47 after one half of play.

-Tied at 62, Nathan Osei went on a 5-0 run himself to push the Mont Alto lead to 67-62 with 11:48 left.

-Mont Alto led late with 5:56 remaining with a 74-71 edge. Caleb Eckert and Darrius Bush extended the lead quickly to nine points with back-to-back triples.

-Mont Alto kept the lead at around ten points as they held on to win 87-79 on senior night.
