
Penn State Mont Alto 72, Penn State New Kensington 58
New Kensington, Pa.- Mont Alto men's basketball remained undefeated in conference play with a 72-58 win Friday evening against New Kensington. Veron Talla led all scorers with 21 points on 7 of 16 shooting and 7 of 14 from the charity stripe. Ta'Rasi Means led the offensive charge for New Kensington with 19 points and six boards.
Mont Alto took a 37-25 edge into the locker room as Talla scored 8 points in the first half and Bryson Fleming and Caleb Eckert chipped in six. Mont Alto attempted ten more field goals in the first half and limited New Kensington to 44% from the field.
Jadyn Benson cut the deficit to 39-32 before Fleming extended the lead to ten points on a three pointer on the next possession. A 5-0 Mont Alto run pushed the lead to 51-34, forcing a NK timeout.
Mont Alto would finish the contest with a final score of 72-58, moving to 7-0 in the conference and 9-1 overall.
