Mont Alto controls action from tip in battle of top ranked teams

Penn State Mont Alto 91, Penn State Wilkes-Barre 70 

Mont Alto, Pa- Mont Alto men's basketball went up against Wilkes-Barre for a conference game pitting the top two ranked teams in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. With strong performances from Veron Talla who scored 22 points and Jonathan Pang with 21, Mont Alto came away with the decisive victory over Wilkes-Barre 91-70.

 

How It Happened 

-Mont Alto jumped out to an early lead of 11-2 with almost everyone on the floor contributing.  

-Wilkes-Barre would then come back and make it 20-15 with a couple baskets from Jedidiah Ashton.  

-Late in the first half, Mont Alto took a commanding lead of 45-21 and would carry that lead into halftime.  

-A strong performance in the second half by Jonathan Pang and Veron Talla led Mont Alto to the victory without worry.  

 

Mont Alto Leaders: 

Veron Talla- 22 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists 

Jonathan Pang- 21 points, 3 steals 

Bryson Fleming- 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists 

 

Wilkes-Barre Leaders: 

Jedidiah Ashton- 27 points, 4 rebounds 

Jo-Nathan Kelly- 10 points, 4 rebounds 

Christopher Killings- 7 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists
