Strong second half lifts Mont Alto to sixth consecutive regular season division title

Penn State Mont Alto 83, Penn State Schuylkill 61

Mont Alto, Pa- Mont Alto Men's basketball team went up against Penn State Schuylkill for a USCAA division two matchup. A close game in the first half turned into Mont Alto winning by 22 points in the end. Lead by Veron Talla's 19 points and 12 rebounds. With the win, Mont Alto clinched home court in the playoffs by winning their sixth consecutive regular season division title. 

 

How it Happened

-Early in the first, Schuylkill would take a commanding 11-2 lead as Mont Alto struggled early.      

-Mont Alto would then hold Schuylkill scoreless for eight straight minutes as they took the lead 19-11 with only seven minutes left in the first half.     

-In the second half Mont Alto would not let up, keeping their lead for the remainder of regulation.     

-Veron Talla and Jonathan Pang helped lead Mont Alto to their 83-61 win over Schuylkill, with Veron Talla scoring 17 of his 19 in the second half and Jonathan Pang scoring 14 of his 19 in the second half.     

 

Mont Alto Leaders:

Veron Talla- 19 points, 12 rebounds

Jonathan Pang- 19 points, 4 rebounds

Saihou Mbergan- 12 points, 12 rebounds

 

Schuylkill Leaders:

Amir Gray- 15 points, 5 rebounds

Antwuan Byrd- 10 points, 6 rebounds

Hadir Boswell- 7 points, 5 rebounds
