Penn State Mont Alto finished their regular season play with another win. The team traveled to Penn State Greater Allegheny to play at The Butler Golf Course. It was one of the only matches the team has been able to play without cold temperatures and rain. The perfect fall weather along with great effort from the Mont Alto team led them to another victory. Mont Alto's sophomore, Ariq Mansur was the medalist with 79 on the par 72 course. Captain Chris Rhein placed third overall with a score of 81 and Chase King also made the top five at fourth place shooting an 83. "We finished our regular season conference today with a win at Greater Allegheny" Coach Bill Burke commented. "Next week is the big week for us with the PSUAC & USCAA Championships at State College's Blue Course; hopefully our guys will be ready to play."
Mont Alto has brought home the PSUAC Championship two years in row. With the same goals in mind for this year, the team also is looking towards a USCAA Championship as well. The 2011 USCAA/ PSUAC Golf Championships will be taking place October 10 - 11, 2011. Stay up to date on our Mont Alto Athletics website for results.
