Tom Shearer Crowned PSUAC Golfer of the Week

University Park, Pa. - Tom Shearer (Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) had an outstanding week of golf competing in the Elizabethtown College Invitational and the PSUAC Invitational for the Penn State Mont Alto golf team. For his efforts, the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) named Shearer Golfer of the Week.

Shearer has been one of the Lions top golfers of the 2017 season. Taking part in one of the biggest tournament fields of the season with 28 teams of mostly NCAA Division III institutions, Sheerer carded a two-over 73 in the Elizabethtown Invitational, which tied for third-place.

In the PSUAC Invitational on Penn State's White Course, Shearer led Mont Alto to a sixth-place team finish and shot a round of 75, which was also good for third-place.

Tom Shearer (Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) and the rest of the Mont Alto golf team return to action this Thursday at the Penn State Hazleton Invitational at Valley Country Club. Tee time is slated for 11 a.m.
