APOLLO, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto golf team was back in action on Saturday competing in the Bernie Gus Golf Classic at the Links at Spring Church against competitors from PSU New Kensington, PSU DuBois, PSU Brandywine and PSU Greater Allegheny.

Mont Alto had two sets of golfers competing in pairs as each competitor had to deal with windy conditions throughout the 18 holes. Penn State New Kensington's Collin McCune and Michael Kohl combined to shoot 72 to take home honors as the top pairing.

Carson Helfrick (Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) and Dylan Loss (Middleburg, Pa. / Middle-West) teamed up and their score of a 78 tied for second best amongst the 11 pairings competing. They tied with teammates Brogan Beall (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) and Daniel Harman (Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) who also instantly gelled on the course to shoot a round of 78.

The Nittany Lions return to action on Monday, April 19 when they travel and compete in the Penn State Hazleton Invitational at Valley Country Club.
