Mont Alto Golf Closes Out Regular Season at Penn State Lehigh Valley Invitational

NORTHHAMPTON, Pa. – As you will notice in the events results, the Penn State Mont Alto golf team competed against six other Penn State University Athletic Conference teams in a Ryder Cup style event on Tuesday afternoon at Riverview Country Club. The event was settled with six Brandywine golfers teaming up with student-athletes from Penn State Fayette and Penn State Hazleton to defeat the golfers from Mont Alto, Penn State Scranton, and Penn State York by a close 15-13 score.

As laid out by tournament hosts Penn State Lehigh Valley, the day's 18-holes were split into three formats of six holes each. The first six holes played were alternate shot, while the next six were better ball. The final six holes were head-to-head single matches.

The Mont Alto pairing of Carson Helfrick (Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) and Dylan Loss (Middleburg, Pa. / Middle-West) earned a total of 2.5 team points. Meanwhile the other pairing for the Nittany Lions consisted of Brogan Beall (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) and Daniel Harman (Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) totaled 1.5 team points for their flight.

The Penn State Lehigh Valley Invitational wrapped up the regular season for Mont Alto. The PSUAC/USCAA Championships are slated to take place on May 10-11 with both rounds being played on Penn State's Blue Course.
