Ed Reely enters his third season at the helm of the Penn State Mont Alto golf program in the 2024-25 academic year.

 

Reely began his golf instruction career in 1995 when he began teaching with the United States Golf Teachers Federation (USGTF). In 2000, he pursued becoming a PGA member and satisfied the PGA membership certification requirements in 2008. In 2002, Reely started as the Head Professional of Mountain View Golf Club and in 2010 accepted the role of General Manager. He would manage the club until 2020.

 

In addition to those roles, he was also a teaching professional at Penn National Golf Club from 1995-2002. 

 

Mont Alto golf recorded a successful 2023 campaign until Reely as the team placed second in the conference at the 2023 PSUAC/USCAA Championships. Ryan Small finished in second place out of 53 golfers in the conference that season. Small was also named a USCAA All-American after a T-4th in the USCAA Championships.

 

Mont Alto Golf recorded another successful season in 2024, placing 1st in the 2024 PSUAC/USCAA tournament for the first time since 2016 and 5th in the USCAA overall. Jacob Bassham earned USCAA Second Team All-American by placing tied for 9th in the USCAA and second in the conference. Coach Ed Reely was also named the 2024 PSUAC coach of the year for his efforts this season.
