MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer team was defeated 1-0 in a Penn State University Athletic Conference home match on Saturday afternoon against PSU Hazleton.

Mont Alto honored breast cancer and all cancer survivors along with the women's program in its annual "Pink Out" as they honored survivors of cancer during a halftime presentation of the women's match. The team's also held a silent auction all afternoon long where they raised $709 for the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance.

Mont Alto dominated possession in the first half and had multiple chances to score, but were unable to find the back of the net. PSUMA outshot the visiting Hazleton Lions by a 10-5 margin during the first 45 minutes.

Mont Alto once again was finding open space in the final third of the Hazleton defensive zone in the opening minutes of the second half, but the visitors caught them on the counter attack and Kyle Pacheo chipped the ball past PSUMA keeper Austin Moore (Brockway, Pa. / Brockway Area) in the 53rd minute. The goal was scored on a hard angle and ended up being the decisive effort.

Moore finished the afternoon with a match-high 11 saves. Bryce Palamar (Smithsburg, Md. / Williamsport) led Mont Alto with six shots.

The Lions return to action on Wednesday, October 17 in a home match with Penn State Scranton. The PSUAC matchup is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
