Mont Alto ties Williamson 2-2

Penn State Mont Alto (1-7-2 overall, 1-4 PSUAC) 2, Williamson (2-3-2 overall) 2 

Penn State Mont Alto traveled to Williamson College of the Trades on Thursday evening for some non-conference men's soccer action. The two teams battled through a scoreless first half before scoring a combined four goals in the games final 45 minutes of play.

 

Thursday's contest ended in a 2-2 tie as Penn State Mont Alto falls to 1-7-2 overall on the season and 1-4 in conference play.

 

Scott Stanko Jr. stopped three Williamson scoring chances during the midway portion of the first half to keep the game scoreless stopping efforts from Williamson's Jason Minch and two from Brandon Cairy in the 25th minute. Mont Alto's Thomas Oberholzer had a shot go wide left proceeding a corner kick from River Terry late in the first half.

 

Nathaniel Edey scored his third goal of the season two minutes into the second half on an assist by Devonte Henry. Williamson would answer in the 58th minute on a goal scored by Harrison Pritt. Mont Alto regained the lead three minutes later when River Terry added to his team-leading goal total with his tally in the 71st minute.

 

It took Brandon Cairy until the 77th minute to find the back of the net for Williamson as he would tie the game with his tally at 2-2. 

 

Penn State Mont Alto recorded five shots on goal on Thursday, two coming from River Terry. Nathaniel Edey, Bryce Kylor and Wesley Muller each had a shot on goal a piece. Brandon Cairy paced the Williamson offense with his five shots on goal.

 

Scott Stanko Jr. recorded 11 saves on 13 shots on goal for Penn State Mont Alto.
