Men's soccer picks up first conference win

Penn State Mont Alto Men's Soccer picks up their first first conference victory on Saturday afternoon by defeating Penn State Scranton on the road 3-0. Mont Alto utilized two first half goals and stellar second half defense to pitch the shutout.

 

Thomas Oberholzer fed Devonte Henry along the right side as Henry only had the goalkeeper to beat and found the back of the net to score his second goal of the season in the games 20th minute. Both teams would battle for possession throughout the remainder of the first half until Garrett DiBenio tallied his first collegiate goal as Thomas Oberholzer recorded his second assist of the half on a beautiful cross pass which found keeper Ethan Lovelace out of position. Mont Alto led 2-0 at the half.

 

Mont Alto was able to add an insurance goal in the 75th minute as Noah Crescenzi tallied his second goal of the season on an assist from Devonte Henry.

 

Jawad Malik stopped his two shots on goal faced as he helped Mont Alto shutout Scranton. Kynn Loss, Garrett DiBenio, and Thomas Oberholzer each registered two shots on goal in the victory.

 

Mont Alto will take on Carlow University at home tomorrow afternoon with a 2pm start.
