Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer dropped its first conference game of the season on Saturday, a 3-0 loss to Penn State Greater Allegheny.

 

Greater Allegheny held a slight edge in SOG with 8-6 advantage as Mont Alto failed to capitalize on its scoring chances throughout the match.

 

Cameron Downey registered the game's first goal in the 13th minute on an assist from Max Whitson. Whitson would score the next two goals for GA in the 23rd and 67th minute to extend the lead.

 

River Terry paced the offensive efforts for Penn State Mont Alto as he recorded three shots on goal.

 

GA keeper Chris Klinger stopped all six of his shot attempts faced to preserve the shutout. Mont Alto keeper Jawad Malik registered five saves on eight shot attempts faced. 

 

Up Next: Mont Alto will travel to Central Penn for non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
