Game 1: Penn State Mont Alto 10, Dickinson 5

Game Story

Back-to-back four run innings in the fourth and fifth proved to be the difference in game one of the doubleheader. Jaylin Belton scored on a Kirsten Dell double, tying the game at 3-3 to begin the top of the fourth inning. MacKenzie Stake singled, scoring Haley Dawson to give Penn State Mont Alto a 4-3 advantage. Destiny Hall continued the fourth inning rally, scoring Stake on a single, pushing the Mont Alto lead to 6-3. Dell scored Courtney Smith on a single in the top half of the fifth inning. Hall and Miller both recorded RBI singles in the fifth, giving Mont Alto a 10-3 lead after five innings of play.

 

Kirsten Dell picked up the win, pitching a complete game with two strikeouts and allowing one walk. Kirsten Dell and Brooklyn Miller each recorded three hits in the first game as Penn State Mont Alto combined for 16 hits as a team. Kirsten Dell, McKenna Sas and Jaylin Belton each recorded doubles.

Game 2: Dickinson 10, Penn State Mont Alto 9 F/8 inn

Game Story

The Red Devils bounced out to an early 3-0 lead as Paige Hahn doubled to center field, scoring Lindsay Kucker and Laila Gwathmey. Penn State Mont Alto rebounded to take a 4-3 lead in the fourth behind a bases-clearing double by Emily Sicinski and a RBI single by Skye Herring. In the top of the sixth inning, Destiny Hall put Penn State Mont Alto up 8-3 on a three run home run. Dickinson responded in the bottom half of the inning, scratching across five runs of their own to tie the contest at 8-8. Doubles by Emma Varella and Hannah Seburn made it an 8-6 ballgame. Lindsay Kucker provided the equalizer with a 2 RBI triple to right field. Penn State Mont Alto broke the extra inning tie in the top half of the 8th inning when Brooklyn Miller hit a sacrifice fly to score Destiny Hall. Dickinson ended the game in the home half of the 8th on a double by Hannah Seburn. Penn State Mont Alto's record currently sits at 5-6 as conference play begins this weekend.
