Game 1: Penn State New Kensington 5, Penn State Mont Alto 4

 

Game Story

  • Penn State New Kensington bounced out to a 3-0 lead after the top half of the first inning. Lianna Gonzalez scored on a wild pitch to score the team's first run. Molly Collins doubled home Elliott Ferrent then Collins scored on a wild pitch for the 3-0 advantage.  

 

 

  • Penn State New Kensington's Lianna Gonzalez plated the tying and winning runs on a single to left field in the top half of the seventh inning. Penn State Mont Alto was unable to respond in its final at-bat, dropping the opener 5-4.

  • Penn State Mont Alto received a strong start from Kirsten Dell as she went seven innings, earned the victory and struck out three hitters

 

  • Penn State Mont Alto took a 2-0 advantage into the 4th inning, where they were able to supply the insurance runs. Emily Sicinski, Jaylin Belton and Courtney Smith each supplied RBI hits as Penn State Mont Alto scored three runs in the 4th inning to go up 5-0.
