HOW IT HAPPENED:
-Mont Alto faced off once again against Salem University in the USCAA Softball Small College World Series. The two teams met before in 2023 with Salem winning 7-3.
-Ricki Garay put Salem on the board in the top of the first inning with a RBI double to left field. Mont Alto answered in the home half of the inning when McKenna Sas scored on a wild pitch.
-Salem added on in the fourth inning when Abigail Harki and Kayla Williams each supplied RBI hits to move ahead 3-1. Salem would add on a fourth run in the 6th inning to lead 4-1.
-Mont Alto pinch hitter Skye Herring started off the seventh inning with a base hit up the middle. Dani-Lynn Barklow also pinch hit in the inning as she doubled down the right field line, scoring Rachel Alleman. The third pinch hitter of the inning, Chloe Sullivan walked to keep the inning going. Kirsten Dell would plate MacKenzie Stake on a double to right field. Abigail Cunningham later scored the tying run on a Salem wild pitch. The winning run would come on a Delaney Glazer hit up the middle which scored Dell.

Mont Alto takes on Penn State Schuylkill on Tuesday at 4pm from Heindl Field in DuBois, Pa. Fans can watch the game on the USCAA Sports Network for $9.95 a game or $40 for the entire tournament.
