Conference Matchup: Mont Alto 14, Scranton 9

Mont Alto Softball hosted PSU Scranton for a double header on Tuesday. In the first game of the double header Mont Alto would come out on top as they win 14-9 over Scranton.

In the bottom of the first, Kira Weikert would get the scoring started as she hit a 2-run homerun.

In the bottom of the third, Hailey Spielman would hit a two RBI single to left field and Mont Alto would have the lead 4-0. Later in the inning, Spielman stole third and would then score on an error by the catcher.

In the top of the fourth, three straight walks allowed three runs to score. Then a double from Aryanna Bodge would score two more runs. An error by Mont Alto infield would then allow two more runs to score and Scranton would take the lead 7-5.

A single from Paige Loudenslager in the bottom of the fourth would allow two runs to score. Then a sacrifice fly from Spielman would score one more run.

In the top of the fifth, a single from Colleran would score two runs on the play.

A sacrifice fly from Rachel Alleman in the bottom of the sixth would score one run. A single from Terri Williams would score one run. Then a hit by pitch would allow another run to score. Later in the inning, another sacrifice fly from Aiyana Young would score one run. Then a single from Wiles would score two more runs and Mont Alto would hold on and get the win over Penn State Scranton.

In the bottom of the first, a double from Hailey Spielman would allow one run to score, then a single from Rachel Alleman would score one run as well.

In the top of the third, a single from Shimonis would score one run. Then a single from Moyles would allow one run to score. Lukasewic would then single to left field and two runs would score on the play.

In the bottom of the third, Rachel Alleman would steal third and then score on an error by the catcher.

A single in the bottom of the fourth from Alyssa Wiles would score one, then a single from Hailey Spielman would allow three runs to score and she would advance to third on an error by the infield. An error by the shortstop would then allow one more run to score.

In the top of the fifth, after a lineout one run would score unearned. Mont Alto would hang on and get an 8-5 win over Scranton.
