PSUAC Softball Championship: DuBois 4, Mont Alto 3
Penn State Mont Alto's softball playoff run fell just short of a PSUAC Championship as the team was defeated by Penn State DuBois 4-3. In the three day tournament, the team finished with a 3-2 overall record losing both games to DuBois.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Both teams went scoreless for the first three innings until Hailey Spielman singled down the left field line to plate Terri Williams for the games first run.
-Kira Weikert scored Spielman on a single to the shortstop to push Mont Alto ahead 2-0.
-In the top of the fifth inning, Alyssa Wiles hit a ball to the right field corner which went between the fielders legs. She was able to score on a throwing error later on the triple.
-Natalie Bowser tied the game with a three run home run to the deepest part of the ballpark in the bottom of the sixth inning.
-Chelsea Busatto recorded her third hit of the day with scored Jessy Frank and gave DuBois the PSUAC title with a 4-3 final.
