Penn State Mont Alto Women's Basketball (0-3) team fell to Penn College 65-39. The first half was close before Penn College continued to increase the lead in the second half.
Despite the loss, Alexis Smith had a solid game. Smith had the only double-double for Mont Alto, recording 19 points and adding 15 rebounds. The team fought hard until the end of the game. Penn College was led by Kierstin Steer who had 23 points and Jenna Matzinger you pulled down 13 boards.
"This is the second game where Alexis has performed very well by dominating in post and was overall a big spark for us," Coach Donna Davis comments. "We played a great first half but shot poorly in the second. We need to work on attacking the ball and create openings," Davis added.
Mont Alto is continuing to battle and look for their first win of the season. They travel to Penn State Schuylkill on Monday, December 3rd.
