MONT ALTO, Pa. - The Penn State University Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday that Penn State Mont Alto senior forward Alexis Shaffer (Hagerstown, Md. / South Hagerstown) has been selected as the league's women's basketball player of the week. 

Shaffer spearheaded Mont Alto's dominant win over Central Penn College going for a game-high 24 points and 16 rebounds. She shot 60 percent from the field and has recorded a double-double in four-straight games.

Through five games, Shaffer is averaging 19.2 pointers per game, which ranks first in the conference and is shooting a league best 48.7% from the field. Her average of 15 rebounds per game ranks third in the USCAA.

Mont Alto (2-3) has a home game with Christendom College on Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup.
