MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto women's basketball team was unable to overcome a cold shooting night from the field in a 69-53 loss to PSU DuBois. Mont Alto shot 29.2 percent from the field and 18.8 percent from 3-point range in their first conference loss of the season.

PSU DuBois (5-1, 1-0 PSUAC) opened with ten straight points, but Mont Alto (3-4, 0-1 PSUAC) closed the gap and forced a timeout at 12-8 with 3:15 left in the first quarter. DuBois would close the quarter on a 8-3 run. DuBois maintained a double figure lead for most of the second, but a pair of acrobatic Charity Miller (Greencastle, Pa. / James Buchanan) layups and a Karley Coleman (Hanover, Pa. / Delone Catholic) layup with five seconds remaining in the quarter cut the lead to 47-39 into the break.

Julianne Noveras (Gaithersburg, Md. / Gaithersburg) had a strong third quarter for Mont Alto with five points, but the team was unable to chip into the deficit trailing 50-41 going into the fourth quarter.  DuBois used a host of scorers in the final period as Kashius Haris, Melody Young, Hope Bridge and Grace Earle finished in double figures.

Charity Miller (Greencastle, Pa. / James Buchanan) finished with a team-high 15 points and Alexis Shaffer (Hagerstown, Md. / South Hagerstown) kept her double-double streak alive with 14 points and 14 boards for Mont Alto. The NIttany Lions return to action on Tuesday, December 5 in a home matchup with Penn State Lehigh Valley.
